1. Introduction
Our production process controls honeycomb properties like cell shape, wall thickness, porosity, and composition. We can engineer the substrate to achieve your application's thermal, mechanical, and chemical requirements. For example, altering cell wall thickness impacts strength and heat transfer rate. Increased porosity reduces density but lowers the elastic modulus. Ceramic chemistry changes thermal and electrical properties, abrasion resistance, and chemical durability. Our advanced manufacturing technologies enable high volume production of honeycomb substrates with tight dimensional tolerances. This ensures consistent performance across batches. We form the cellular structure using methods like extrusion, injection molding, and freeze casting. The green body undergoes binder removal and firing at over 1600°C to sinter and densify the structure. Advanced inspection and quality control validates integrity and uniformity. The result is a lightweight, reliable honeycomb substrate ready for your application. We also provide value-added services like custom machining, coatings, and attachments.
